Magazine insparations

My inspirations to make my music magazine were Kerrang, Metal Hammer and Q. I am going to try and reach out to a group/market of serious rock/heavy rock/metal listeners who also like to have a laugh. It will be based around music and and a touch of comedy alike what Kerrang does when they caption on some of the live act pictures. My colour scheme will be red, white and black. I have chosen these colours because they go well with the genre of the bands, they were the most popular colours chosen in my questionnaire and they are also used in my selected magazine inspirations. The layouts of my magazine will be similar to my selected magazines but with a difference so that they don't look identical to each other. To make my magazine individual and not identical to other rock music magazines my own twist on it will be that it will only be based on guitars and bands. Some other magazines will want to spread across a wider audience but if i single it out to guitarists I will able to use my own knowledge about the target audience and what they are interested in finding out.

Questionnaire Results Booklet

Analysis: Out of the 30 people we asked, half were male and the other half were female. A complete 50/50. We asked people from the age of 16 to 18 years old. Out of the 30 we asked 13 were 16, 12 were 17 and 5 were 18. The majority of people we asked wanted the magazine to be based around music with live and album reviews and random articles about bands. Some wanted it to be based around fashion and a minority wanted to be based around film reviews. Pretty much all of the people wanted the college magazine to be worth 50p but that may be possible because they would like just a paper magazine and not thick, glossy and expensive to make. Half of the 30 people we asked wanted the magazine weekly out of the three options( weekly,monthly&termly). The most popular magazines already read are music based with Kerrang! and NME. Nearly half of the survey answerers said that the main colour that they would like to see is red. I believe it is because red is the most attracting colours, so the more attracting it is the more the people will want to read it. 25 people said that if there was to be discounts enclosed in the magazine then they would rather them be on clothes stores and food stores/restaurants. Finally the prefered size for the magazine would be A4.
